I think this bird got hit by a car today

This morning I watched a bird in flight steer itself right into the windshield of the car in front of me. There was an explosion of feathers very similar to the Randy Johnson fastball hits pigeon incident. The bird was launched high into the air and barely missed landing in the back of my open top Jeep. Sad scene. Anyway, I took this photo two years ago - a bird that nested on a light fixture on my parents back porch. I'm not certain, but I think this was the bird I saw get hit today.
